Can't find Kurzweil 3000 icon on the desktop
Even if Kurzweil 3000 is installed on the computer, it's icon may not appear on the desktop. In order to find the program, please follow the following procedure:
- Press "Search Windows" button located on the lower left of the screen (Magnifying Glass icon)
- In "Search Windows" field type in "Kurzweil"
- Kurzweil 3000 icon should appear
- In case Kurzweil 3000 is not found, please contact the Solution Center @ solutioncenter@csuci.edu
I'm unable to login
- As Kurzweil 3000 requires internet access to work, please make sure the computer is connected to the internet. To do so, open any browser, the default page should be if the page does not load, you are not connected to the internet
- Verify whether the account info was entered correctly
- To login for testing purpose, please check in with Cynthia Cuevas to get the latest login information
No audio is heard/audio is too low
- Check if any external speakers/headphones are connected to the computer. If so, make sure they are turned on
- In case headset does not produce sound, make sure it is plugged into the correct port. In case there is still no sound, double check that the headset works on another computer
- On the lower right corner, press the speaker icon. Check if the volume is muted or turned all the way down. If so, turn it up
- In Kurzweil 3000, click on the speaker icon. See if the slider is turned all the way down. If so, turn it up
Can't find IntelliJ Idea icon on the desktop
Even if IntelliJ Idea is installed on the computer, it's icon may not appear on the desktop. In order to find the program, please follow the following procedure:
- Press "Search Windows" icon located on the lower left of the screen (Magnifying Glass icon)
- In "Search Windows" field type in "IntelliJ"
- IntelliJ Idea icon should appear
- In case IntelliJ Idea is not found, please contact the Solution Center @ solutioncenter@csuci.edu
IntelliJ Idea requests a verification of the license
- Please contact the Solution Center @ solutioncenter@csuci.edu to request the activation of the license
- If IntelliJ Idea is needed urgently, please follow the next steps to temporarily bypass
the license activation:
- NOTE: After activating the evaluation, please contact the Solution Center @ solutioncenter@csuci.edu to report unactivated license on your machine
- When prompted for license activation, click the "Evaluate for free" option:
- Click "Evaluate" to start the 30 day trial of IntelliJ Idea:
No Java SDK is found when creating a project
ATTENTION: Please verify with the instructor whether the knowledge of picking the correct Java SDK is part of the examination. If it is, the students are supposed to know how to specify the Java SDK by themselves.
All CS/IT students are taught how to set up Java SDK in their respective classes. In case a student reports that no Java SDK is selected, you can follow the following procedure to find it:
- Click on "Create New Project"
- Follow the project creation streamlined process until you reach the following screen
- Click on the "New..." button besides the line where "No SDK" message is
- Follow the path: C/Program Files/Java and highlight the latest JDK folder on the list, then click "OK"
- The project is ready to be created now, click "Next" to continue with project creation
Can't find PEP 9 icon on computer
Even if PEP 9 is installed on the computer, it's icon may not appear on the desktop. In order to find the program, please follow the following procedure:
- Press "Search Windows" icon located on the lower left of the screen (Magnifying Glass icon)
- In "Search Windows" field type in "Pep"
- PEP 9 icon should appear
- In case PEP 9 are not found, please contact the Solution Center @ solutioncenter@csuci.edu
PEP 9 can't open .pepcpu files (use Pep9CPU program)
PEP 9 are not designed to open files of .pepcpu extension files. To work with .pepcpu files, please use the dedicated PepCPU software on your PC:
- Press "Search Windows" icon located on the lower left of the screen (Magnifying Glass icon)
- In "Search Windows" field type in "Pep9CPU"
- Pep9CPU icon should appear
- In case Pep9CPU is not found, please contact the Solution Center @ solutioncenter@csuci.edu
