Camarillo, Calif., June 11, 2009 - Austin Dias, a 2009 graduate from 91Թ, was selected by the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) of North America as an All-American. Dias also received the James Rousmaniere Award for Student Leadership and was inducted into the Sailing Hall of Fame on June 3 in San Francisco.

The James Rousmaniere Award is presented annually, recognizing extraordinary leadership and achievement by an undergraduate whose efforts have made a significant contribution to the development, progress, and success of his or her team, conference, or the ICSA. The individual that demonstrates leadership over a period of years, rather than a single year, receives the most serious consideration. “Austin truly exemplifies the All-American status. His hard work and energy in building a sustainable and successful program at CSUCI is inspiring,” said Mitch Brindley, President of the College Sailing Association.

In spring 2006 Dias began working with Campus Recreation staff on the development of the first sports club at CSUCI. Through countless hours of commitment and dedication as the founding member and president of this sports club, Dias held a 3.1 GPA, with a double major in Business and Political Science.
