Camarillo, Calif., April 6, 2009 – Performing Arts students at CSUCI will perform “Once in a Lifetime,” a play by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart, at the second annual CSU Channel Islands Spring Production. There will be eight performances from April 17 to 25, all located in Malibu Hall, Room 140.

“Once in a Lifetime” is a witty, wonderful, and wise-cracking comedy, written in the 1930s by Kaufman and Hart who also collaborated on such projects as “You Can’t Take it With You,” and “The Man Who Came to Dinner.” Set when Vaudeville met Hollywood, “Once in a Lifetime” satirizes the foibles of Hollywood as its starlets and moguls face the revolution of talking pictures.

Performances are approximately 2 ½ hours long and will feature live swing music for dancing at intermission. This production is not recommended for children under 9 years of age.

Sunday, April 19, 7 p.m.
Thursday, April 23, 8 p.m.
Friday, April 24, 8 p.m.
Saturday, April 25, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for the general public, $10 for CSUCI faculty and staff, $5 for non-CSUCI students and free for CSUCI students with ID. Reservations are highly recommended and may be made via Brown Paper Tickets at: or by calling 800-838-3006.
