Ìý-CSUCI Class of 2007, including members of the Inaugural Freshman Class 2003-2007. Approximately 930 students, which includes CSUCI undergraduate, graduate, and credential students, are eligible to participate in the 2007 Commencement ceremony, and the number of degree candidates expected to participate is approximately 655. Approximately 7,500 guests, in addition to graduates and members of the campus community, are expected.

WHEN: 9 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2007

WHERE: 91³Ô¹Ï campus, South Quad. Due to the large crowds that are expected and limited parking available on campus, students, families, and friends are encouraged to arrive by 7:30 a.m. and to ride-share or use public transportation if possible to reduce the volume of traffic on campus. Graduates will be parked on campus.

Free VISTA bus transportation is also available to and from the campus at the following locations and departure and arrival times:

WHAT: At the above place and time, the University will present its 2007 Commencement ceremony, featuring two student speakers, Jessica LaRoe and Tamara Gershater, who are both members of CSUCI's Inaugural Freshman Class 2003-2007.

LaRoe was born and raised in Sacramento County, and moved to Ventura County to be a member of the Inaugural Freshman Class at CSUCI. LaRoe is graduating with a bachelor's degree in Business with minors in Psychology and Economics. Throughout her college career, she has been involved in the following activities: one of the first resident assistants in Anacapa Village, an officer in Gamma Beta Phi Honor society, a student body senator, a member of the President's Council, Foundation board, the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce, and for the past academic year has served as president ofÌý Associated Students Inc. and Student Government. LaRoe plans to attend graduate school to further prepare her for opening her own business.

Gershater is originally from Camarillo. She is graduating with a bachelor's degree in English with an emphasis in education. She was one of the first resident assistants in Anacapa Village, a member of Associated Students Inc., a campus orientation leader, and a peer advisor in Academic Advising. Gershater will be attending graduate school at the University of California Davis in the fall.
