WHAT:聽 91吃瓜 will host a grand opening ceremony for Santa Cruz Village at the time and place listed above. The ceremony will include remarks from University President Richard R. Rush. Santa Cruz Village is the second phase of student housing to be built on the University鈥檚 campus. Existing structures, which were originally built in the 1930s, were incorporated into the construction of the 460-bed residence hall. This adaptive reuse, or recycling, of buildings is part of CSUCI鈥檚 commitment to maintaining a 鈥済reen campus.鈥� Santa Cruz Village will house some of the University鈥檚 more than 500 first-time freshman. Anacapa Village, the University鈥檚 first phase of student housing will be used for returning students who choose to live on campus.
