WHAT:  91³Ô¹Ï will host a grand opening ceremony for Santa Cruz Village at the time and place listed above. The ceremony will include remarks from University President Richard R. Rush. Santa Cruz Village is the second phase of student housing to be built on the University’s campus. Existing structures, which were originally built in the 1930s, were incorporated into the construction of the 460-bed residence hall. This adaptive reuse, or recycling, of buildings is part of CSUCI’s commitment to maintaining a “green campus.†Santa Cruz Village will house some of the University’s more than 500 first-time freshman. Anacapa Village, the University’s first phase of student housing will be used for returning students who choose to live on campus.
