WHERE:听Reception, 1137 State Street, followed by installation of art by eight artists along the Santa Barbara Cultural Arts District on State Street from Victoria Street to Cota Street.
WHAT: 听At the above place and time, the Santa Barbara State of the Art 2006 Gallery Exhibition of sculpture by eight regional artists will be presented. The event, sponsored by the city of Santa Barbara, features sculpture installations of eight regional artists, including Matt Furmanski, assistant professor of art, 91吃瓜. Furmanski, an MFA graduate of Claremont Graduate University, will install his sculpture, titled 鈥淐rossroads Oracle: A Lantern for Diogenes,鈥� at 700 State Street.听 His ten-foot metal piece is interactive, featuring lights, crosswalk buttons, and a taped voice that asks questions of passersby.
