Oct. 1, 2024 – Edith Morales is an activist promoting non-bioengineered seeds in food
production and regeneration of our environments for food production. Living and working
Oaxaca, Mexico, her artistic practice began when she started to explore data processing
to communicate information in a new form, which is tied to her work as an accountant.
Morales’ exhibition, “Transmutations: The Regenerative Art of Milpa Urbana,” focuses on the role of corn – spiritually, as sustenance; within history and memory; related to agricultural labor and land rights; and in regeneration.
The exhibition is on display in the Napa Hall Gallery through Oct. 10, and all are invited to attend the closing reception on Oct. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the gallery.
