Student AI Survey
During Week 2 of Spring 2024 classes, Teaching and Learning Innovations distributed a brief AI survey to students. We asked questions about whether and how students are using AI tools generally and for their course work, whether their instructors had communicated guidelines around AI usage in their courses, and what advantages or concerns students may have about AI diffusion in higher education. Instructor AI Survey
A short questionnaire was distributed to users in the Instructor role in Canvas and later to CSUCIās Faculty Development community space in Canvas during Spring Semester Final Exams Week (May 13-17, 2024). The purpose of this survey was to gauge instructor dispositions, practices, and support preferences related to generative AI in higher education. In Fall 2023, Teaching and Learning Innovations hosted a convening of educators from the region for an AI Summit. Our Keynote speaker shared a framework for AI literacy, and panelists discussed policies, practices, professional development, experimentation, and implementation of AI in their respective contexts. In 2024, Teaching and Learning Innovations expanded the Summer AI Residency, and we joined by Faculty-in-Residence: Annie White, Breeann Austin, Cindy Sherman, Kristen Linton, LaSonya Davis, Nicole Amato, and Yeawon Yoo; and Staff-in-Residence: Asha Ramachandra, Courtney Gross, Fable Mangold, Kristin Jordan. .
Summer 2023
During Summer 2023, Jerilee Petralba and Dan Lenz joined Teaching and Learning Innovations as AI Staff and Faculty in Residence. During their AI Residency, the team experimented with emerging AI tools and related issues stemming from AI diffusion in education and work. Read .
